AMPLIFIED
Deep in the desert, a masked prophet has stood for no one knows how many years. He never speaks. People travel from far away to kneel before him and confess everything. His silence is revered as the highest form of wisdom, because silence refuses no interpretation. It can become whatever answer each person needs. Then someone hands him a microphone. They want his voice to travel farther. He takes the microphone, raises it — and says nothing. He uses the microphone to amplify his silence. This short film explores a paradox: in an age when everyone longs to be heard, is silence an escape, or a more powerful kind of voice? When you finally speak, are you fulfilling expectations, or betraying them? And when you choose to remain silent, is it because you are forced to, or because you have taken control? Some silences mean you do not want to speak. Some silences are meant to make others listen.
